TOUR NIGERIA

NIGERIA
Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country and one of the continent’s more prosperous due in large part to its rich oil and gas deposits. More than 515 African ethnic groups live in Nigeria, but the Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani make up the majority. About 50 per cent of the nation is Muslim. The British first came to Nigeria in the late 1800s and by 1906, they controlled the entire country. Nigeria attained independence in 1960. Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo is the current President in a new participatory democratic experiment started on 29 May 1999.

Nigeria is a country with multi-cultures and languages, but the lingua franca is English, with a lot of people also speaking pidgin or broken English. The weather is excellent for vacationers who enjoy beachcombing and visiting Nigeria is a steal of a deal for foreigners because of the additional benefit of very favorable foreign exchange rates. Rates vary from N110 -140 for US$1.

The major airport "Murtala Mohammed Airport" has undergone major modernization to international and safe standards. You can feel the ease and comfort as you arrive in the air-conditioned facility. At the departure terminal there are an on-location bank, bookstore, tel. service station, ample tel. booths for both domestic & Int'l calls, souvenir stores, bars with TV sets, a restaurant & airport lounges for convenience.

As you exit you pass by the water fountain whose beauty is more evident at night time, and there are a Church & Mosque for travelers who may have layovers/connecting flights. There are credit & debit facilities such as Valucard & Smartpay to augment the use of cash.
